What is Ayurveda and how can it help me?
Ayurveda is a natural system of nutrition and healthcare that balances your whole being: not just your physical body, but the mind, emotions and spirit too. It uses foods, yoga, massage, herbs, lifestyle and other therapies to restore you to a state of health and vitality. It can balance your digestion, treat symptoms or illness, and restore balance and wellbeing.

Can it treat my problem?
Ayurveda can treat digestive problems such as constipation, gas and bloating; stress, worry and other emotional imbalances; insomnia or low energy; skin conditions; menstrual problems; weight gain; pain and stiffness including back pain and arthritis; and many other health problems. See a list of what we treat. We treat adults, children over 12 and the elderly.

How does Ayurveda work?
All the functions in the body are governed by the three doshas, or subtle energies, called Vata, Pitta and Kapha. When these go out of balance, due to poor diet, wrong lifestyle or external factors, disharmony and disease results. Balancing the doshas restores harmony and health.  "Live more simply, so that you can find time to enjoy the little pleasures of life." Paramahansa Yogananda

Jacqui says: "With your consultation and personalised health plan I will show you that, although Ayurveda is a detailed medical science, it doesn't need to be complex or inaccessible. I will make Ayurveda realistic and practical for you to incorporate into modern daily life, in order to achieve health, balance and vitality. I believe that this ancient art, which helps us live a more balanced and natural life, is more relevant than ever with today's busy urban lifestyles. That's why I called my practice Ayurveda Today. If you don't want a full health plan you are welcome to come for a detoxifying and revitalising massage, a rejuvenating facial, private yoga tuition, or Shirodhara. I hope this site inspires you to discover this natural healthcare system for yourself, and look forward to sharing Ayurveda with you." Email Jacqui.
