Shirodhara: relieves stress, calms the mind

Warm oil therapy to relieve stress, anxiety, agitation, sleep problems, nervous system disorders

Are you under stress or feeling anxious? Is your mind busy with unconstructive thoughts, or always racing ahead? Always checking your iPhone and email? Perhaps you use a computer all day, then go home and put the TV on...

ShirodharaThen you need Shirodhara! In this ancient and wonderfully soothing treatment, a stream of warm oil is gently poured on the forehead (following a full-body massage). The mind and nervous system are soothed and rejuvenated, the mental chatter stops, and there is a deep feeling of peace and relaxation.

Shirodhara soothes and nourishes the senses and decreases disturbance in the mind (stress, agitation, too many thoughts). It increases spiritual awareness, and improves memory, focus, concentration and self-esteem.

It improves sleep patterns and can treat insomnia, when done regularly. It also treats migraine, ringing in the ears, and helps in mental problems, speech disorders, facial paralysis, hair loss and controlling high blood pressure.

Over-use and misuse of the senses is one of the main causes of illness. With today's overstimulation of the senses, Shirodhara is a vital and effective treatment for many people. It's the antidote to modern life!

Practical tips Please be hydrated (drink enough water and herbal tea) but don't drink immediately beforehand.
Don't come on a full stomach or a completely empty one: 2-3 hours after eating is best.
The hair will be full of oil after Shirodhara, so bring a hairband, hat or headscarf. In cold weather bring a hat - very important.
